Cheryl & Shea Bailey, of Yellow Umbrella Events – a destination wedding event company, have been amazing in helping us with all the booking details. They have worked to secure a group room block with the resort and will be helping all of our guests book their accommodations for our wedding on Sunday, November 20th, 2022.

Trip Deposit & Payment Schedule
- A payment equal to 1-Room Night is all you need to reserve your room.
- Monday, June 6th, 2022, is the deadline to get a guaranteed reserved room. Any reservations requested after that date are based on availability and not guaranteed.
- 50% of your room reservation total is due by Tuesday, June 7th, 2022.
- Full payment of your trip is due by Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022.
- Additional payments towards your balance can be made at any time (monthly) by contacting Shea before the final payment is due.
- I’ll need your flight info by Monday, September 19th, 2022. You can send that to me by filling out the form on this page.

If you would like to arrive earlier than Thursday, November 17th, 2022, or stay past Monday, November 21st, 2022, please let us know when you fill out the room reservation form. If you would like to travel outside of those dates we will just need to confirm availability.
Passports:
Very Important: You must have a passport to travel to Cancun. If you do not have a passport you will need to apply for one as soon as possible.

FYI, not purchasing travel protection could result in the loss of your travel cost and/or require more money to correct the situation. Without protection, there may be no way to recoup any losses, costs, or expenses incurred and the price of Travel Protection IS NOT included in the price of the room selections and is non-refundable once purchased.
Having travel protection is definitely important and I recommend it for everyone. We personally buy it for our trips. However, the option to purchase travel insurance is solely up to you and you may purchase it through any insurance company you would like.

This website (Travel Insured) offers a very comprehensive policy called the “Worldwide Trip Protector” plan with optional add-ons like CFAR (Cancel For Any Reason), Optional Bed Rest which helps cover onsite quarantine expenses, and other add-on options. Travel Insured is the insurance company we personally use and suggest to others but you are welcome to purchase travel insurance through any entity that you choose.
If you want the CFAR (Cancel for Any Reason) benefit you will have to add it to the policy and you must purchase the insurance no later than 21 days from the day you make your initial payment. FYI, CFAR is not available for New York State residents.
When you click on the link you will need to answer a few questions about your trip and then you’ll be redirected to a page with the policy information and pricing.
The basic “Worldwide Trip Protector” plan, which does not include the CFAR or Optional Bed Rest options, can be purchased at any time, including after 21 days from the time you paid your initial payment but it will not cover the Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion Waiver or the Bankruptcy/Default of an airline, cruise line, tour operator or other travel providers. However, you can still cancel for a covered reason and potentially get up to a 100% refund as long as it’s a covered reason.
Depending on what you select and the reason for canceling, travel insurance may cover between 75% – 100% of your trip cancellation and many other things like unexpected medical expenses, baggage, and flight delays.

To be considered a part of Julia & Tyler’s wedding group, you must book through this group room block and not through any other method (even directly with the hotel). They have secured a wedding room block to make this as easy as possible.
Reservation Cancellation Policy
If you do not purchase the travel insurance and have to cancel your reservation you may still have to pay a partial penalty up to the for the full amount of your reservation plus the $100 per person cancellation fee.
If you purchased the travel insurance and have to cancel you will be refunded the amount according to the travel insurance guidelines minus the cost of the non-refundable insurance, but you are still responsible for the $100 per person cancellation fee.
Once a reservation is booked there is a $100 per person cancellation fee with no regard to the reason for the cancellation. This cancellation fee also applies to all cancellations that result in a re-booking.
If you cancel your reservation by June 6th, 2022, you are only responsible for the $100 per person cancellation fee.
If you cancel your reservation between June 6th, 2022, and August 23rd, 2022, you will be responsible for 2-nights of your room total plus the $100 per person cancellation fee. If you have travel insurance you can file a claim to get a refund based on their terms.
If you cancel your reservation on or after August 23rd, 2022, you are responsible for 100% of your room total plus the $100 per person cancellation fee. If you have travel insurance you can file a claim to get a refund based on their terms.
Yellow Umbrella Events is not an agent of the Hotel and has no control over refund policies and other rules mandated by the Hotel.
Room Reservation FAQ’s
Where can I find their Wedding Website & Registry?
We don’t currently have information for Julia & Tyler’s wedding website or registry; please reach out to the couple directly.
Can I add someone else to my room after I’ve made my reservation?
Yes, you can always add a person to your room after your reservation has been made as long as it doesn’t go above the room occupancy limit. If you’re waiting to make a reservation because you’re not sure if someone will be with you in the room, I suggest you go ahead and secure your reservation now and then add them later.
Can I use a different credit card to make additional payments?
Yes. All you need to do is fill out the form on this page. As soon as I receive the information I’ll make the payment and email you the receipt.
Can my roommate(s) pay for their portion of the room on a separate card or does it have to be all on one card?
Yes, they can pay using a different credit card. However, when you fill out the reservation form it will only allow you to add 1 credit card. If they want to use their own credit card all you need to do is add a note in the “Additional Information” section at the bottom of the reservation form and tell me who will be using another credit card. You can then submit their credit card info to me by filling out the form on this page.
Can I make additional payments before the final payment date?
Yes, you can make additional payments at any time. Just send me an email telling me how much you want to pay and if I should use the credit card I have on file for you. If you want to use a different credit card you can send it to me by filling out the form on this page.
Can I set up a payment schedule?
Yes. Just email me with how much you want to pay, what credit card to use, and on what dates you want me to make the payments.
I filled out the reservation form but I didn’t get an immediate confirmation.
No need to worry – when you fill out the reservation form it does NOT automatically make your reservation or charge your credit card. The information is sent to us so we can review it first. If we have any questions we will reach out to you for verification. As long as everything looks good we will make the reservation and email you a receipt showing the payment and another email with information about your reservation. FYI, If you fill out the form after business hours (5:00 pm CST) or over the weekend it may be the next day before you receive a confirmation.
The other person in my room can’t make it. Can I switch them with someone else?
Yes. Just send me an email with the name of the guest to be removed along with the name (as it appears on their passport) of the new guest, their birthday, and email address. Once I have this information I’ll make the adjustment.
I can’t make it to the event and need to cancel my reservation. What do I do now?
First, send me an email (I have to have it in writing) letting me know you need to cancel your reservation.
Other details will follow on the resort’s current cancellation policy!
Will everyone in our group have rooms next to each other?
No, not necessarily. This will depend on a few factors like the type of room category each person books, where those room categories are located, and how full the resort is at the time of the event.
Can I request a room next to someone else?
When you make your reservation you can send the request to me in the “Additional Information” section at the bottom of the reservation form and I will pass it along to the resort. They will do whatever they can to honor your request but it is not guaranteed.
Do I need to take electrical converters?
No. Mexico has the same electrical outlets as we do in the U.S.
