Cheryl & Shea Bailey of Yellow Umbrella Events, a destination wedding travel company, have been amazing in helping us with all the resort details. We have set up a wedding room block with the resort, specific to our group, and Yellow Umbrella Events will be assisting all our guests in reserving your rooms for our wedding on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024.

Trip Deposit & Payment Schedule
- A payment equal to 50% of your room total is all you need to reserve your room.
- Tuesday, February 6th, 2024 is the deadline to get an available room in the room block. Any reservations requested after that date have to be requested with the resort. Room availability and contracted rates are not guaranteed.
- Full payment of your trip is due by Tuesday, May 7th, 2024 (The resort reserves the right to cancel the reservation if payment is not made by this date ).
- Additional payments towards your balance can be made at any time (monthly) by contacting your dedicated reservation specialist before the final payment is due.
- You are responsible for booking your own flights, but we still need your flight info by Thursday, June 13th, 2024 to give to the resort so they know what time you will arrive. You can send that to us by filling out the form on this page. You will fly to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD).
- You are also responsible for booking your own ground transportation to the resort and back to the airport. See below for information regarding booking your ground transportation.

If you would like to arrive earlier than Sunday, July 28th, 2024, or stay past Thursday, August 1st, 2024, please let us know when you fill out the room reservation form. If you would like to travel outside of those dates we just need to confirm availability.
Adding Nights/Guests once you arrive at the Resort
As soon as the first person from the group has arrived at the resort we are not allowed to add extra nights or guests to your reservation. You will have to go to the front desk to add them. Also, the resort will not honor the contracted room rates and you will have to pay whatever the current room rate is at that time.

As a reminder, the wedding ceremony will be held on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024.

Guests can RSVP through the couple’s personal wedding website or directly with the couple. We (Yellow Umbrella Events) do not track RSVPs, we only manage the room reservations for the couple.
*At this time, the couple does not have a personal wedding website or registry.
To be considered a part of Lindsay & Nick’s Wedding Group, you must book through this group room block and not through any other method (even directly with the hotel). We offer contracted group rates that have been secured through a room block to make this as easy as possible. To participate in all of the wedding-related activities, you must stay at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos as part of the wedding group.
If you stay at a different hotel/resort other than Secrets Puerto Los Cabos you will be considered a Non-Guest and will be charged an additional fee per adult to attend the wedding ceremony and related events. Non-Guests are required to present an official ID to access the hotel. These guests are welcome to arrive 30 minutes before the first event and can stay up to 30 minutes after the last event ends.

Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your reservation by February 6th, 2024, you are only responsible for the $100 per person cancellation fee. However, you can reduce the number of nights in your reservation up to this date without a cancellation fee.
If you cancel your reservation between February 7th, 2024, and May 7th, 2024, you will be responsible for 50% of your room total. Also, if you reduce the number of nights in your reservation you will be responsible for 50% of the nights reduced. If you have travel insurance you can file a claim to get a refund based on their terms.
If you cancel your reservation or reduce the number of nights in your reservation on or after May 8th, 2024, you are responsible for 100% of your room total. If you have travel insurance you can file a claim to get a refund based on their terms.
Additionally, the resort will not allow the following modifications/changes to your reservation on or after May 7th, 2024:
- Downgrading a room category
- Decreasing the number of nights in your reservation
- Removing a guest from your reservation (reducing the occupancy level in your room)
This resort will not allow any changes, including name changes, to your reservation after July 5th, 2024.
What can you do with your reservation between May 7th, and July 5th, 2024?
- Upgrade your room category, if an upgraded room category is available.
- Add extra nights, if additional nights are available.
- Add an additional guest or make a name change.
The resort will not provide a credit or voucher for future travel if you arrive after your scheduled arrival date, if you check out early, or do not travel on the dates selected for this reservation for any reason.
Yellow Umbrella Events is not an agent of the Hotel and has no control over refund policies and other rules mandated by the Hotel.
If you do not purchase travel insurance and have to cancel your reservation you may still have to pay for part or the full amount of your reservation.
If you purchased the travel insurance and have to cancel you will be refunded by the travel insurance company according to the travel insurance guidelines, but you are still responsible for the $100 per person cancellation fee.
Once a reservation is booked there is a $100 per person cancellation fee with no regard to the reason for the cancellation. This cancellation fee cannot be reapplied to a later re-booking.
Travel Insurance
**If you have any questions about travel insurance please give Travel Insured a call at 800-243-3174. We (Yellow Umbrella Events) are not a licensed insurance company and can not legally answer any insurance-related questions.**
FYI, not purchasing travel insurance could result in the loss of your travel cost and/or require more money to correct the situation. Without travel insurance, there may be no way to recoup any losses, costs, or expenses incurred. The price of travel insurance IS NOT included in the price of the room selections and is non-refundable once purchased.
Having travel insurance is definitely important and we recommend it for everyone. We personally buy it for our trips. However, the option to purchase travel insurance is solely up to you and you may purchase it through any insurance company you would like.
This website (Travel Insured) offers a very comprehensive policy called the “Worldwide Trip Protector” plan with optional add-ons like CFAR (Cancel For Any Reason), Optional Bed Rest which helps cover onsite quarantine expenses, and other add-on options. Travel Insured is the insurance company we personally use and suggest to others but you are welcome to purchase travel insurance through any entity that you choose.
If you want the CFAR (Cancel for Any Reason) benefit you will have to add it to the policy and you must purchase the insurance no later than 21 days from the day you make your initial payment.
When you click on the link you will need to answer a few questions about your trip and then you’ll be redirected to a page with the policy information and pricing.
The basic “Worldwide Trip Protector” plan, which does not include the CFAR or Optional Bed Rest options, can be purchased at any time, including after 21 days from the time you paid your initial payment but it will not cover the Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion Waiver or the Bankruptcy/Default of an airline, cruise line, tour operator or other travel providers. However, you can still cancel and potentially get up to a 100% refund as long as it’s a covered reason.

Ground Transportation
Ground transportation to the resort and back to the airport is not included with your room reservation; Yellow Umbrella Events does not coordinate ground transportation to the resort. However, you can add transportation on your own by clicking the button below.
We recommend booking transportation with Canada Transfers. Use the button below to book your ground transportation with Canada Transfers:
Before booking your ground transportation:
- Make sure to select Los Cabos as your destination before booking transportation.
- You must have your flight information first. You will fly into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). This is where the transportation company that you book will pick you up.
- Please schedule your ground transportation directly with Canada Transfers at least 3-4 weeks before you depart.
- Any updates to your flight info or any needed changes to the transfers must be updated directly with Canada Transfers. Yellow Umbrella Events does not have access to make any changes or updates.
- You do not have to book your transportation through Canada Transfers. You are welcome to make arrangements with any transportation company you choose.
If you have any questions regarding booking your transportation, please contact the transportation company you are interested in using.
Americans with Disabilities Act
Since the hotel is not located in the United States, they’re not required to be in compliance with the U.S. Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. The Hotel has a limited number of accessible guest rooms that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We can request an accessible room for you but it’s never guaranteed.
Also, public areas and restaurants at the Hotel are wheelchair accessible, just not wheelchair friendly. If you need to rent a wheelchair, scooter, or oxygen tank you can do so through Playa Mobility. Click here to visit their website.
Although transportation is included, we find that the resort’s accessible shuttle is not always available or reliable. For this reason, we would advise all guests that are mobility challenged to arrange for private accessible round trip transportation for the best experience. Yes. All you need to do is fill out the form on this page. As soon as we receive the information we’ll make the payment and email you the receipt.
Yes, they can pay using a different credit card. However, when you fill out the reservation form it will only allow you to add 1 credit card. If they want to use their own credit card, all you need to do is add a note in the “Additional Information” section at the bottom of the reservation form and tell us who will be using another credit card. You can then submit their credit card info to us by filling out the form on this page.
Yes, you can make additional payments at any time. Just send us an email telling us how much you want to pay and if we should use the credit card I have on file for you. If you want to use a different credit card you can send it to us by filling out the form on this page.
Yes. Just email us with how much you want to pay, what credit card to use, and on what dates you want me to make the payments.
When you fill out the reservation form it does not automatically make your reservation or charge your credit card. The information is sent to us so we can review it first. If we have any questions we will reach out to you for verification. As long as everything looks good we will make the reservation and email you a receipt showing the payment and another email with information about your reservation. FYI, If you fill out the form after business hours (5:00 pm CST) or over the weekend it may be the next day before you receive a confirmation.
Yes, you can always add a person to your room after your reservation has been made as long as it doesn’t go above the room occupancy limit. All you need to do is send your dedicated reservation specialist the following information.

If you’re waiting to make a reservation because you’re not sure if someone will be with you in the room, we suggest you go ahead and secure your reservation now and then add them later.

First, send us an email (we have to have it in writing) letting us know you need to cancel your reservation.
If you purchased the travel insurance and have to cancel you will be refunded the amount according to the travel insurance guidelines once you submit your claim, but you are still responsible for the $100 per person cancellation fee.

No, not necessarily. This will depend on a few factors like the type of room category each person books since each room category could be in different areas of the resort and how full the resort is at the time of the event.
When you make your reservation you can send the request to us in the “Additional Information” section at the bottom of the reservation form and we will pass it along to the resort. They will do whatever they can to honor your request but it is not guaranteed.
No. Mexico has the same electrical outlets as we do in the U.S.
Mexico has banned smoking in all public places effective January 2023. Some of the places tourists can no longer smoke in include beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. If you are caught smoking in public, you may be fined. Some resorts have designated outdoor smoking areas for smokers.
Electronic or vaping devices and solutions are illegal in Mexico. People who are caught with these items may have them confiscated and may also be fined or detained. If you have any questions about smoking or vaping please reach out to the hotel.
