Cheryl & Shea Bailey, of Yellow Umbrella Events, a destination wedding event company, helped us with all the booking details. They have worked to secure a group rate with the resort and will be helping you book your travel accommodations for our wedding on Friday, October 21st, 2022.

Trip Deposit & Payment Schedule
- A payment equal to 1-Room Night is all you need to reserve your room.
- Monday, May 30th, 2022 is the deadline to get an available room in the room block. Any reservations requested after that date have to be requested with the resort. Room availability and contracted rates are not guaranteed.
- 50% of your room reservation total is due by Tuesday, May 31st, 2022 (The resort reserves the right to cancel the reservation if payment is not made by this date).
- Full payment of your trip is due by Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022 (The resort reserves the right to cancel the reservation if payment is not made by this date).
- Additional payments towards your balance can be made at any time (monthly) by contacting Shea before the final payment is due.

Travel Protection
**If you have any questions about the insurance please give Travel Insured a call at 1-800-243-3174. We (Yellow Umbrella Events) are not a licensed insurance company and can not legally answer any insurance-related questions.**
FYI, not purchasing travel protection could result in the loss of your travel cost and/or require more money to correct the situation. Without protection, there may be no way to recoup any losses, costs, or expenses incurred and the price of Travel Protection IS NOT included in the price of the room selections and is non-refundable once purchased.
Having travel protection is definitely important and I recommend it for everyone. We personally buy it for our trips. However, the option to purchase travel insurance is solely up to you and you may purchase it through any insurance company you would like.

This website (Travel Insured) offers a very comprehensive policy called the “Worldwide Trip Protector” plan with optional add-ons like CFAR (Cancel For Any Reason), Optional Bed Rest which helps cover onsite quarantine expenses, and other add-on options. Travel Insured is the insurance company we personally use and suggest to others but you are welcome to purchase travel insurance through any entity that you choose.
If you want the CFAR (Cancel for Any Reason) benefit you will have to add it to the policy and you must purchase the insurance no later than 21 days from the day you make your initial payment. FYI, CFAR is not available for New York State residents.
When you click on the link you will need to answer a few questions about your trip and then you’ll be redirected to a page with the policy information and pricing.
The basic “Worldwide Trip Protector” plan, which does not include the CFAR or Optional Bed Rest options, can be purchased at any time, including after 21 days from the time you paid your initial payment but it will not cover the Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion Waiver or the Bankruptcy/Default of an airline, cruise line, tour operator or other travel providers. However, you can still cancel for a covered reason and potentially get up to a 100% refund as long as it’s a covered reason.
Depending on what you select and the reason for canceling, travel insurance may cover between 75% – 100% of your trip cancellation and many other things like unexpected medical expenses, baggage, and flight delays.

Ground Transportation to the Resort
- Ground transportation to the resort and back to the airport is not included in the prices listed below. However, you can add them on your own by clicking on the button below.
- Any updates to your flight info or any needed changes to the transfers must be updated directly with Lomas Travel. Yellow Umbrella Events does not have access to make any changes or updates.
- Car seats can be added during checkout if needed.
- Before booking your transportation you must have your flight information first.

Reservation Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your reservation by May 30th, 2022, you are only responsible for the $100 per person cancellation fee.
If you cancel your reservation between May 31st, 2022, and September 5th, 2022, you will be responsible for 50% of your room total plus the $100 per person cancellation fee. If you have travel insurance you can file a claim to get a refund based on their terms.
If you cancel your reservation on or after September 6th, 2022, you are responsible for 100% of your room total plus the $100 per person cancellation fee. If you have travel insurance you can file a claim to get a refund based on their terms.
Also, the resort will not allow any modifications/changes (downgrade room category, decrease the number of nights, and/or remove a guest) to your reservation after August 12th, 2022.
You may make a name change (switch guests) on a reservation up to September 9th, 2022.
However, you can upgrade your room category, add extra nights, or add an additional guest up to 21 days before you depart as long as it is available with the resort. No changes of any type are allowed 21 days or less prior to your arrival.
Yellow Umbrella Events is not an agent of the Hotel and has no control over refund policies and other rules mandated by the Hotel.
If you do not purchase the travel insurance and have to cancel your reservation you still may be responsible for the full amount of your reservation plus the $100 per person cancellation fee depending on when you cancel.
If you purchase the travel insurance and have to cancel you will be refunded the amount according to the travel insurance guidelines minus the cost of the insurance, but you are still responsible for the $100 per person cancellation fee.
Once a reservation is booked there is a $100 per person cancellation fee with no regard to the reason for the cancellation. This cancellation fee also applies to all cancellations that result in a re-booking.
To be considered a part of Ximena & Erik’s Wedding Group, you must book through this group room block and not through any other method (even directly with the hotel). We offer competitive group rates and have secured a room block to make this as easy as possible. To participate in all of the wedding-related activities, you must stay at Secrets Maroma as part of the wedding group.
If you do not make your reservation within this room block and decide to stay at a different resort you will be required to pay a Day Pass fee to access the wedding events.
Upon arrival, you will be directed to the front desk to check-in and pay for the Day Pass. You must present a Picture ID (passports are preferred) in order to enter the property and it will be kept at the front until your departure at the end of the evening.
Please inform Ximena & Erik if you are staying at a different property so they will have a list of names to give to the Resort.

Can I use a different credit card to make additional payments?
Yes. All you need to do is fill out the form on this page. As soon as we receive the information we’ll make the payment and email you the receipt.
Can my roommate(s) pay for their portion of the room on a separate card or does it have to be all on one card?
Yes, they can pay using a different credit card. However, when you fill out the reservation form it will only allow you to add 1 credit card. If they want to use their own credit card, all you need to do is add a note in the “Additional Information” section at the bottom of the reservation form and tell us who will be using another credit card. You can then submit their credit card info to us by filling out the form on this page.
Can I make additional payments before the final payment date?
Yes, you can make additional payments at any time. Just send us an email telling us how much you want to pay and if we should use the credit card I have on file for you. If you want to use a different credit card you can send it to us by filling out the form on this page.
Can I set up a payment schedule?
Yes. Just email us with how much you want to pay, what credit card to use, and on what dates you want me to make the payments.
I filled out the reservation form but I didn’t get an immediate confirmation.
When you fill out the reservation form it does not automatically make your reservation or charge your credit card. The information is sent to us so we can review it first. If we have any questions we will reach out to you for verification. As long as everything looks good we will make the reservation and email you a receipt showing the payment and another email with information about your reservation. FYI, If you fill out the form after business hours (5:00 pm CST) or over the weekend it may be the next day before you receive a confirmation.
Can I add someone else to my room after I’ve made my reservation?
Yes, you can always add a person to your room after your reservation has been made as long as it doesn’t go above the room occupancy limit. If you’re waiting to make a reservation because you’re not sure if someone will be with you in the room, we suggest you go ahead and secure your reservation now and then add them later.
The other person in my room can’t make it. Can I switch them with someone else?
Yes. Just send us an email with the name of the guest to be removed along with the name (as it appears on their passport) of the new guest, their birthday, and email address. Once we have this information we’ll make the adjustment. If you are just switching guests the $100 cancellation fee is not charged to the person being removed from the reservation.
I can’t make it to the wedding and need to cancel my reservation. What do I do now?
First, send us an email (we have to have it in writing) letting us know you need to cancel your reservation. We will then email you a link so you can make the $100 per person cancellation fee payment. Once this has been paid we will request the room cancellation.
If you purchased the travel insurance and have to cancel you will be refunded the amount according to the travel insurance guidelines minus the cost of the insurance, but you are still responsible for the $100 per person cancellation fee.
If you did not purchase the travel insurance, you may still be responsible for additional fees above and beyond the $100 per person cancellation fee which could possibly include the full amount of the room reservation.
I don’t see a way to RSVP on the website. How can I do this?
There is no official way of doing this through our website. Most people contact the wedding couple directly and let them know. However, we do keep a list of people who have already made a room reservation so I can send an update to the wedding couple.
Will everyone in our group have rooms next to each other?
No, not necessarily. This will depend on a few factors like the type of room category each person books and how full the resort is at the time of the event.
Can I request a room next to someone else?
When you make your reservation you can send the request to us in the “Additional Information” section at the bottom of the reservation form and we will pass it along to the resort. They will do whatever they can to honor your request but it is not guaranteed.
Does the transportation company have a car seat for my baby?
If you need a car seat please let me know so I can request one for you. The transportation company charges around $30 one way for a car seat and you need to pay in cash when you arrive.
Do I need to take electrical converters?
No. Mexico has the same electrical outlets as we do in the U.S.
