What a 50-Guest Wedding at Hotel Xcaret Mexico Could Cost with the 2027 Sunset Package

One of the most common questions we get at Yellow Umbrella Events is: “How much does a destination wedding at Hotel Xcaret Mexico actually cost?”

Real numbers are so much more useful than vague estimates, so when Hotel Xcaret Mexico released the new Sunset 2027 Wedding Package at $3,950, we wanted to do exactly that: walk through what a real upscale wedding might actually cost using this package for 50 guests.

We’ve seen firsthand how a Hotel Xcaret Mexico wedding comes together.  The base package, the add-ons, the florals, the photography,  and we’re pulling from that real-world experience from actual past couple’s real invoices to give you honest, grounded numbers. These numbers are based on an upscale wedding with many extras, so keep that in mind.

Let’s get into it.

Starting Point: The Sunset 2027 Package at $3,950

The Sunset package covers the essential building blocks of your wedding day. For 50 guests on a Sunday–Thursday date, here’s what’s already included in that $3,950:

  • Symbolic ceremony with officiant, venue, ceremony audio, chairs, and gazebo/altar space
  • 1-hour cocktail hour with open bar
  • Reception venue with standard dinner setup
  • 3-course plated menu
  • 3-hour open bar
  • Resort-assigned wedding coordinator
  • Florals for the couple and wedding party (6 pieces total)
  • Couple’s attire steaming (2 pieces)
  • Couple’s amenity on wedding night
  • Romantic breakfast the following morning
  • Personalized gift
  • 2-hour per or post wedding photo session with Xtudio Xcaret

That’s a legitimately strong foundation. But most couples will want to build on top of it — and that’s where your real budget takes shape.

What Most Couples Add (And What It Costs)

Here’s how a 50-guest Sunset package wedding might realistically come together:

Hotel Xcaret Resort Add-Ons // Estimated $4,000-$5,000

The Sunset package covers your base ceremony and reception beautifully, but the resort invoice typically grows as couples personalize their day with additions like:

  • Ceremony music – a soloist or live musician adds a meaningful touch and runs a few hundred dollars through the resort
  • Wedding cake – not included in the package; added through the resort’s in-house bakery
  • Hair & makeup – In-house styling for the bride (and wedding party, if desired)
  • Photobooth – a guest favorite, available through the resort

These additions are common across nearly every Hotel Xcaret wedding we’ve worked on, and they add up meaningfully. Budget $4,000–$5,000 for resort add-ons beyond the base package, depending on your choices.

Florals & Décor // Estimated $8,000–$12,000

This is where wedding styles really come to life — and where budgets vary the most. The Sunset package includes basic florals for the couple and wedding party (6 pieces total), but full ceremony and reception décor goes well beyond that. Most couples invest in:

  • Ceremony gazebo and aisle florals
  • Guest table centerpieces and candles
  • Sweetheart table décor
  • Welcome sign
  • Bistro lighting, lounge seating, champagne wall, and other reception touches
  • Upgraded linens, charger plates, and aisle runners

Because the Sunset package requires in-house vendors exclusively, you’ll be working with the resort’s floral and décor team. Their team is talented and comprehensive, but the scale of your vision will determine where your investment lands. For a 50-guest wedding with ceremony florals, reception centerpieces, and décor accents, a realistic range for most of our couples is $8,000–$12,000.

Photography & Videography // Estimated $4,500–$7,000

The Sunset package includes a 2-hour per or post wedding photo session with Xtudio Xcaret, that most couples use for the welcome cocktail party, which is a nice inclusion, but most couples want full wedding day coverage. Expanding to full-day photography and videography, including drone footage, through the resort’s in-house team will vary based on hours and package level. Budget $4,500–$7,000 for comprehensive coverage.

Don’t forget: As a Yellow Umbrella Events couple booking the Sunset package, you also receive 6 hours of content creation from Jhankarlo Photography on your wedding day — or a 50-minute couple’s massage at Muluk Spa. Your choice. That’s an exclusive perk on top of everything above.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the $3,950 package price cover everything? No — it’s a strong base, but most couples add cake, hair and makeup, music, florals beyond the included pieces, and full-day photography. Think of the $3,950 as the foundation your wedding is built on.

What’s not included that surprises couples most? Wedding cake, hair and makeup, ceremony music, and upgraded florals, and lighting are the most common additions couples don’t initially factor in. None of these are included in the base package.

Can we bring in our own photographer or florist? No. The Sunset 2027 package requires all vendors to be in-house. This is a firm condition of the promotion. However, if your outside vendor stays for 3 nights in your room block, they are considered a guest and do not count towards this rule.

What if we have more than 50 guests? Each additional guest beyond 50 (for Sun–Thu dates) is $220 per person. So 60 guests would add $2,200 to your package cost.

What if we want a Friday or Saturday wedding? Friday and Saturday dates require a minimum of 30 paid rooms and 60 guests, and the package price covers up to 60 guests at the same $3,950 base price.

Is this really less expensive than a U.S. wedding? Yes — often significantly. The average U.S. wedding now exceeds $35,000 for a moderate wedding, and that typically doesn’t include the destination experience or the built-in honeymoon feel of a Mexico resort wedding.

When does the Sunset promotion end? There is no set end date. Hotel Xcaret Mexico has told us directly that they will end this promotion without any advance notice. If this package is on your radar, the time to reach out is now — not after you’ve finished planning.

The Yellow Umbrella Take

The Sunset 2027 package is one of the best entry points we’ve seen for a Hotel Xcaret Mexico wedding. At $3,950 for a 50-guest celebration with ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and photography included, the base value is genuinely strong.

When you build it out the way most couples do — with full-day photo coverage, elevated florals, cake, hair and makeup, and music — you’re realistically looking at a total investment of $20,000–$28,000 for 50 guests. That’s a fully customized, all-inclusive destination wedding experience, often at a fraction of what the same caliber event would cost at home.

Could you spend less? Absolutely! This resort is so gorgeous that it doesn’t need any decor. so, if you are the kind of person that doesn’t really care about a lot of flowers and extra decor, you could feasibly save thousands of dollars, making your total wedding with the Sunset package as low as $15,000 or a little less. That is an extraordinary deal for a destination wedding with 50 guests!
