Finally had my fairytale wedding! We stayed 7 days and wish we would’ve stayed longer! Wednesday: we arrived early and got picked up by the shuttle. It is a very comfortable and easy process. I did have my baby car seat with me however since the aisle and seats are narrow we just decided to carry our son on our lap. Once at the Hotel Xcaret Mexico we met with our coordinator right away to go over the details. I had Edwin Daniel and although there was some trouble communicating before the wedding in the end he made sure everything was perfect. After our meeting we left to enjoy Xenses park as it was a smaller park and then got to explore the resort. The shuttles are often great to hop on and off at whatever time. They also have the ramp in the back to make it easy to get the stroller on without having to fold it up and take the baby out. Also Hotel Xcaret provides cribs which was very helpful!

Thursday: half of our guests arrived. Had rehearsal dinner at Teatro del Río. Although it was a nice experience I feel as though we could have used our time better since it was a long dinner and show.

Friday: The rest of our guests arrived. We had our welcome cocktail hour at noon at Playón Viento. It was nice having the bar right there and seeing the River but there isn’t much shade besides under the bar area and it was pretty hot. After our cocktail hour we went to xoximilco. It was a very fun experience! They were able to accommodate my group of 38 into 2 trajineras. This day my butler messaged me to pick up my wedding dress and suit to be steamed and ready for the next day.

Saturday: Wedding day! I decided to start off the day by going to brunch at Bio with my bridesmaids. It was a very nice restaurant and delicious food. Meanwhile my husband met up with his groomsmen at the pool bar and had their own brunch at La Trajinera. Around 12 I left to do my hair and makeup at the Spa at the resort which turned out perfect. I arrived at my hotel room (I had a River suite) around 2 pm to meet with my bridesmaids and begin getting ready. Around the same time my husband met with his groomsmen in my parents room (River suite) to begin getting ready. We were surprised in each room with food and drinks which were great. At 3 pm Vincent and his team arrived to begin taking our photos and video. He is amazing and I can’t express how happy I am in having chosen him. (I have attached some of our sneak peek photos he has already provided me with!) Anyways… right before heading to the church I decided to do a first look with my dad as my husband wanted to wait to see me until I was walking down the aisle. It was a very nice experience. We then headed to the church for a 4:30 ceremony. The ceremony was about 30-45 minutes long and I decided to just play a couple songs for the ceremony through the speakers (I just sent my coordinator the YouTube links). Following the ceremony we took some pictures walking down the chapel as the guests got escorted to the cocktail hour. This is where I had my violinist. I wasn’t at the cocktail hour but I could hear him and it sounded great! After the cocktail hour we had our reception at Caleta Fuego and it was beautiful. I did get the Im resort DJ and he was great. I had previously sent him a list of what songs I wanted and he was able to do them and more around the same style which was really nice. For dinner we had the cantaloupe pear basil and goat cheese salad (as a substitute for dessert), sweet potato and butter squash soup (my favorite!) rump cap steak and for dessert we had the included wedding cake passed out. I honestly wish I could have had time to taste the cake but I heard it was very good! I didn’t have a dance floor and I think that was the best decision I made. Dancing in the sand was so fun and didn’t limit our dancing space. Although I did have some sandals for guests to change into, even being barefoot was fine. I did decide to add the bistro lights and I am glad I did. The place was lighted very nicely and they looked beautiful. My decor vendor was Corazon and they did an amazing job portraying my vision. My theme was a tropical beach wedding and the flowers and decor were perfect. My bouquet was unique and beautiful.

Sunday: Some of our guests began leaving so we decided to stay local at Xcaret and enjoy that park.

Monday: The rest of our family left and we decided to finally enjoy the resort and the pools! There is so much to see and eat!

Tuesday: had another lazy day around the resort and revisited Xcaret park.

Wednesday: We had our post wedding photo shoot with Vincent around the resort. We had some delicious food and headed to the airport.

Lastly, I want to thank Shea and Cheryl for all their help! They were amazing throughout the whole process. I had signed my contract in January 2019 and had to postpone due to Covid but finally was able to celebrate and enjoy it. They were extremely helpful in setting up the room block and making sure all the guests were accounted for and had their questions answered. I know I asked many questions I’m also grateful for this group chat as I was able to learn from previous reviews and get more insight into certain aspects.
