We wanted to take a break from our regular posts to introduce you to the whole Yellow Umbrella team. We are a close-knit group of friends who form the heart of our team. Based in the heart of Texas, we share a deep bond beyond work—we’re great friends who not only love serving our clients but also exploring the world together. Below is a brief showcase of each team member’s unique talents, their passion for client satisfaction, and their shared love for travel adventures.
Our Fearless Leaders
Shea Bailey,
Owner and COO
Shea, grew up in a small town in Tennessee. After high school he joined the National Guard where he served as a gunner on an M1 Tank. After graduating from Maryville College with a Biology degree. He then moved to Venezuela for a year doing biological research at El Tigre Universitidad. To date he has moved around the country around 30 times, but he decided to call New Braunfels, TX home. Together they have 3 kids, one grandchild and a very spoiled dog.
His favorite thing to do when visiting Hotel Xcaret is going on the Xenotes excursion or nothing at all.
When asked where he would live for a year, if money were not an issue, he responded, “Iceland. It’s so beautiful and forces you to calm down and relax. it’s like visiting another planet.”
Cheryl Bailey,
Owner and Travel Planner
Cheryl is married to her best friend Shea, and they call New Braunfels, TX home. On the rare occasion she is not working, she is probably traveling. Her favorite part of Being the closet introvert that she is, she loves traveling. Exploring new places gives her an opportunity to experience different cultures and learn about their history, while enjoying all of their fine dining along the way. In fact, her favorite thing to do when visiting Xcaret is eat. She loves all of the food options and enjoying the relaxing atmosphere each of the restaurants has to offer.
When asked where she would visit for a year if money were not an issue she answered, “London or Iceland. We just visited London for 5 days last year and when we were there, I remember thinking that I could be there for a year and never run out of things to do or places to eat. And Iceland, because it’s one of my favorite places on earth.”

Fabiola Acosta,
Wedding Sales
Fabiola grew up in Mexico City, but followed through on her childhood dream of living near the beach. After she finished University, she moved to the state of Quintana Roo and briefly lived in Cozumel, then Cancun, before settling into her current home in Playa del Carmen. Before joining the Yellow Umbrella Events team she worked in the hotel industry for 10 years selling and operating events. She has a passion for helping couples find the perfect resort for their dream wedding. She loves to showcase the beauty of her country.
When asked where she would live for a year, if money were not an issue, she responded, “Italy or France! I would love to learn their language, get more knowledge about the wineries, and explore all of them.”
Kaitlyn Taylor,
Onboarding Coordinator
Kaitlyn married her college sweetheart. They have 2 dogs, Bear and Rafa, and live in Georgetown, TX. Together they love going to concerts and live music. Seeing her favorite bands is her happy place. In her spare time she enjoys tennis, pickle ball, racquetball, and playing games of all types. When she visits Hotel Xcaret Arte, you can probably find her at the Muluk Spa enjoying a hydrotherapy session.
If given the chance to live anywhere for a year she would choose Scotland, she loves the landscape, weather, history, people (and their accents), and could eat fish and chips forever.
Mia Hendricks,
Guest Coordinator
Mia may have been born in Hawaii, but she made it to Texas as soon as she could. She and her son call New Braunfels, TX home. She loves all things art related. She loves spending her spare time doing art exhibits as well as supporting others on the same path. When she’s not helping our clients, she travels whenever she gets the opportunity. She has such a strong passion for learning new cultures and enjoying the world’s beauty!
When visiting Xcaret, she’s can be found putting her toes in the sand and listening to the ocean. She also takes advantage of the downtime with a good book. After a long day of relaxing she loves the amazing restaurants
Monica Hawk,
Guest Coordinator
Monica is married with two adult kids and a dog named biscuit. Monica has a stron passion for learning new cultures and enjoying the world’s beauty. All of this helped her find her way into the travel industry. She loves helping our clients along as they plan and travel to Mexico.
When traveling to Xcaret her favorite thing to do is explore and enjoy all of the great restaurants.
When asked where she would go visit for a year, she answered, “Italy – my favorite place and I want to explore the places I’ve not been to.”
Jennifer Weems,
Social Media
Now that Jennifer got her two adult kids off the personal payroll, she spends most of her time in out in East Texas where she is building out a wedding venue in Canton, TX. She loves all things thrifting and antiquing, so she is perfectly placed. As far as travel goes, she loves to stay at Hotel Xcaret Arte were she can enjoy some adult only downtime. When she’s not in the pool, she’s probably at the Mercado drinking all the Mexican coffee she can get her hands on.

From the stage to the sales floor, my journey has been an adventure. With a background in acting and over 5 years in the travel industry, including exploring over 12 Mexican resorts, I bring a unique perspective. Bilingual in English and Spanish, I’m excited to contribute my passion for travel and sales support to our team.
