Yellow Umbrella Events, a destination wedding travel company, has been amazing in helping us with all the resort details. We have set up a wedding room block with the resort, specific to our group, and the team at Yellow Umbrella Events will be assisting all our guests in reserving your rooms for our wedding on Wednesday, November 3, 2027.

Accommodations
Trip Deposit & Payment Schedule
- A deposit equal to 50% of your room total is all you need to reserve your room. This deposit payment will be paid and processed at the time you make your reservation.
- Tuesday, May 11, 2027, is the deadline to get an available room in the room block. Any reservations requested after that date have to be requested with the resort; room availability and contracted rates are not guaranteed.
- Full payment of your room reservation is due by Tuesday, August 17, 2027. The resort reserves the right to cancel the reservation if payment is not made by this date.
- Additional payments towards your balance can be made at any time (monthly) by contacting your dedicated reservation specialist before the final payment is due.
- You are responsible for booking your own flights, but we still need your flight info by Thursday, September 16, 2027, to give to the resort so they know what time you will arrive. You can send that to us by filling out the form on this page. You will fly into Cancun International Airport (CUN).
- You are also responsible for booking your own ground transportation to the resort and back to the airport. See below for information regarding booking your ground transportation.

Adding Nights/Guests Upon Arrival at the Resort
As soon as the first person from the group has arrived at the resort we are not allowed to add extra nights or guests to your reservation. You will have to go to the front desk to add them. Also, the resort will not honor the contracted room rates and you will have to pay whatever the current room rate is at that time.

The room categories listed above were selected by Sydney & Jemichael for their contracted room block. There are only a certain number of rooms available and are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Reservation Dates
- Arrive: Monday, November 1, 2027
- Check-In is at 3:00 pm
- Ceremony: Wednesday, November 3, 2027
- Depart: Friday, November 5, 2027
- Check-Out is at 12:00 pm
There is a 3-night minimum for this room block but you have the option to arrive early or stay later. You can select your dates when you fill out the reservation form.
VERY IMPORTANT: Any requests for early arrival and extended departures outside of the contracted room block dates listed above will be subject to availability and rate approval by the resort and may be non-refundable. If your reservation is impacted by date availability and a difference in contracted rates, we will communicate this information to the guest before any confirmation or charges are made for extra nights outside the room block.

The rates listed below are only available until Tuesday, May 11, 2027.
If you make a new reservation or add extra nights to an existing reservation after this date, these rates are subject to change and the resort will charge whatever the current room rate is for that particular room category at that time. Yellow Umbrella Events does not have control over the rates the resort provides.

Wedding Information
As a reminder, the wedding ceremony will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2027.

Guests can RSVP through the couple’s personal wedding website or directly with the couple. We (Yellow Umbrella Events) do not track RSVPs, we only manage the room reservations for the couple.
*At this time, the couple does not have a personal wedding website.
To be considered a part of Sydney & Jemichael’s Wedding Group, you must book through this group room block and not through any other method (even directly with the hotel). To participate in all of the wedding-related activities, you must stay at Hyatt Ziva Cancun as part of the wedding group.
If you stay at a different hotel/resort other than Hyatt Ziva Cancun you will be considered a Non-Guest and will be charged an additional fee per person, per day for a Wedding Pass to attend the wedding ceremony and related events. The Wedding Pass allows non-guests access to the hotel during the ceremony and until the end of the reception. No exceptions will be made.
Wedding Pass fees for Sydney & Jemichael’s wedding are as follows:
- $182.00 USD per adult (ages 13+)
- $91.00 USD per child (ages 3-12)
Only credit card or currency in pesos will be accepted for payment. Wedding Passes are guaranteed for purchase only on the ceremony date. The hotel will only allow the purchase of Wedding Passes up to a maximum of 20% of the total number of guests. Guests 18 years old and up are required to present an official ID to access the hotel.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your reservation (or remove a guest(s) from the reservation) by May 11, 2027, the responsibility is a $100 per person cancellation fee. However, you can reduce the number of nights in your reservation up to this date without a cancellation fee.
If you cancel your reservation (or remove a guest(s) from the reservation) between May 12, 2027, and August 17, 2027, the responsibility will be 30% of the room total in the case of full reservation cancellation or 30% of the removed guest total. There is also a $100 per person cancellation fee. Also, if you reduce the number of nights in your reservation you will be responsible for 30% of the nights reduced. If you have travel insurance you can file a claim to get a refund based on their terms.
If you cancel your reservation (or remove a guest(s) from the reservation) or reduce the number of nights in your reservation on or after August 18, 2027, the responsibility will be 100% of the room total in the case of full reservation cancellation or 100% of the removed guest total. If you have travel insurance you can file a claim to get a refund based on their terms.
Additionally, the resort will not allow the following modifications/changes to your reservation on or after August 17, 2027:
- Downgrading a room category
- Decreasing the number of nights in your reservation
- Removing a guest from your reservation (reducing the occupancy level in your room)
This resort will not allow any changes, including name changes, to your reservation after October 4, 2027.
What can you do with your reservation between August 17, and October 4, 2027?
- Upgrade your room category, if an upgraded room category is available.
- Add extra nights, if additional nights are available.
- Add an additional guest or make a name change.
The resort will not provide a credit or voucher for future travel if you arrive after your scheduled arrival date, if you check out early, or do not travel on the dates selected for this reservation for any reason.
ANY changes to the reservation, even within the allowed modification window, may result in a fee; refer to the cancellation policy for terms. Additionally, all modifications must be made in writing to your group coordinator. No changes are accepted via phone call/voicemail.
Yellow Umbrella Events is not an agent of the Hotel and has no control over refund policies and other rules mandated by the Hotel.
If you do not purchase travel insurance and have to cancel your reservation, you may still have to pay for part or the full amount of your reservation.
If you purchased travel insurance and have to cancel, you will be refunded by the travel insurance company according to the travel insurance guidelines, but you are still responsible for the $100 per person cancellation fee.
Once a reservation is booked there is a $100 per person cancellation fee with no regard to the reason for the cancellation. This cancellation fee cannot be reapplied to a later re-booking.
Travel Insurance
** If you have any questions about travel insurance please give Travel Insured a call at 800-243-3174. We (Yellow Umbrella Events) are not a licensed insurance company and can not legally answer any insurance-related questions. **
Not purchasing travel insurance could result in the loss of your travel cost and/or require more money to correct the situation. Without insurance, there may be no way to recoup any losses, costs, or expenses incurred and the price of travel insurance IS NOT included in the price of the room selections and is non-refundable once purchased.
Having travel insurance is definitely important and we recommend it for everyone. We personally buy it for our trips. However, the option to purchase travel insurance is solely up to you and you may purchase it through any insurance company you would like.
This website (Travel Insured) offers a very comprehensive policy called the “Worldwide Trip Protector” plan with optional add-ons like CFAR (Cancel For Any Reason), Optional Bed Rest which helps cover onsite quarantine expenses, and other add-on options. Travel Insured is the insurance company we personally use and suggest to others but you are welcome to purchase travel insurance through any entity that you choose.
If you want the CFAR (Cancel for Any Reason) benefit you will have to add it to the policy and you must purchase the insurance no later than 21 days from the day you make your initial payment.
When you click on the link you will need to answer a few questions about your trip and then you’ll be redirected to a page with the policy information and pricing.
The basic “Worldwide Trip Protector” plan, which does not include the CFAR or Optional Bed Rest options, can be purchased at any time, including after 21 days from the time you paid your initial payment but it will not cover the Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion Waiver or the Bankruptcy/Default of an airline, cruise line, tour operator or other travel providers. However, you can still cancel and potentially get up to a 100% refund as long as it’s a covered reason.
We strongly suggest that you call and verify what the policy covers if you have any questions. You can reach an insurance agent at 800-243-3174.
Ground Transportation
Ground transportation to the resort and back to the airport is not included with your room reservation; Yellow Umbrella Events does not coordinate ground transportation to the resort.
We recommend booking transportation with Canada Transfers, however, you are welcome to make arrangements with any transportation company you choose.
If you’d like to book ground transportation with Canada Transfers, just click the button below:
- You must have your flight information first. The closest airport to the resort is Cancun International Airport (CUN). This is where the transportation company that you book will pick you up.
- Please schedule your ground transportation directly with the transportation company at least 3-4 weeks before you depart.
- Any updates to your flight info or any needed changes to the transfers must be updated directly with the transportation company. Yellow Umbrella Events does not have access to make any changes or updates.
Americans with Disabilities Act
Since the hotel is not located in the United States, they’re not required to be in compliance with the U.S. Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. The Hotel has a limited number of accessible guest rooms that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We can request an accessible room for you but it’s never guaranteed.
Public areas and restaurants at the Hotel are wheelchair accessible, just not wheelchair friendly. If you need to rent a wheelchair, scooter, or other medical supplies, you can do so through Playa Mobility. Click here to visit their website.

Once we have this information we’ll make the adjustment. If you are just switching guests the $100 cancellation fee is not charged to the person being removed from the reservation.
Electronic or vaping devices and solutions are illegal in Mexico. People who are caught with these items may have them confiscated and may also be fined or detained. If you have any questions about smoking or vaping please reach out to the hotel.
