We arrived at Hotel Xcaret Mexico Wednesday 3/29 and once we arrived on the property it was such an ease. All the wedding prep and stress beforehand was worth it all once you step onto the property. We met with our coordinator Melanie to go over and review every detail one last time. Totally recommend doing this!!

Thursday 3/30:

We had our welcome party at Playon Viento. We brought our own welcome bags. Inside the welcome bags were sunglasses, mint, fan, itinerary (of the wedding events leading to the wedding), bottle opener, hand sanitizer, Advil, emergency c, and a hangover kit. Our welcome drinks were mango margarita with tajin and a paloma. The paloma were so good.

WEDDING DAY:

It was incredible!! The day goes by so fast so soak it all in.

I absolutely loved that my hair and makeup started late. I was able to have a little time before the actual wedding started. When I returned to my hotel room, I was astounded by the arrangement for my wedding party as we were getting ready. We had champagne, tacos, sandwiches, fruit, and water.

Styling Trio did my makeup. They work as an inside vendor. Hair and makeup artists were AMAZING! Due to the fact that I hadn’t had a hair or makeup trial, I was a little hesitant. But my hair and makeup artists did an AMAZING job. Exactly how I’d like my makeup and hair to look.

MELANIE : (Coordinator)

She was INCREDIBLE!!! On the wedding day, she paid close attention and assisted us with all of our last-minute changes. She was organized and put my mind at ease on the wedding day. When we were getting ready for the wedding, we had the option to pay more for tequila, and she personally delivered them to our room. Throughout the day, she would also check in to see how I was doing and if I needed anything..

She took the vision I had and brought it to life. I was CRAZY about our floral arch. Also, we were able to get the arch set up behind our sweetheart table. She would also send me a Whatsapp message to check that my request for flowers was accurate.

I came across Julie on the group page as well. We met on zoom where we talked about the timeline. We originally wanted to have a catholic wedding at the chapel but ended up being at the base of the chapel. Julie informed me about the timeline with or without a catholic ceremony. Also was questioning if I wanted to do a first look with the groom … ended up not having it. I kind of wished I could take more photos together and two to see his reaction just him and I. She was so fast at taking pictures, we ended up having her stay for another hour because 6 hours just wasn’t enough… After the wedding was over, she sent me our photos TWO DAYS later!!!!! I was so happy to see those photos. I was worried I was going to have to wait a couple months for the photos. She had like 300 photos so she could edit them.

Event Pros: This vendor goes above and beyond.

When trying to get quotes for the dance floor and realizing how expensive they are I was questioning should we even have a dance floor. I came across event pros from the Facebook group. Thank goodness I did. We got our: string lights, light up dancefloor, LOVE sign, photobooth, shot cart and sweetheart table from them. All for the price of one dancefloor quote. Tatiana was very helpful and would send me videos and pictures of prior wedding. We would have zoom meetings to make sure our music was what we wanted.

Soloist:

In our contract we had a violinist, and we had him play during the beginning of the ceremony. We picked songs from the list and I heard he was good.

I would suggest:

Make time to eat. We were only able to eat the appetizers and a bit of the cake. And the bite that I had for the cake was so good. I messaged Melanie after the wedding to see if when we go back for our anniversary if they can provide the cake and she said YES.

Maybe ask the servers or wedding coordinator if they can send food up to your room so that when you get back you can have food to eat.
