Hotel Xcaret Arte Room Block & Guest Policies: What Every Couple Needs to Know
One of the most misunderstood parts of planning a destination wedding at Hotel Xcaret Arte is the room block, what it is, why it’s required, and how it works for you and your guests. This post breaks it all down.
A Room Block Is Required
Hotel Xcaret Arte requires all wedding couples to complete a room block contract. Why? Because Arte sells out fast, often more than a year in advance, and without a guaranteed block of rooms, your guests may have nowhere to stay on your wedding weekend. The current minimum room block is just 11 rooms, regardless of the day of the week.
The 3-Night Minimum Stay
All guests, including the couple, must stay a minimum of 3 nights at Arte. This is a firm resort policy tied to the wedding package. It ensures your group is truly present and able to enjoy the full resort experience together.
The 80% On-Site Guest Rule
At least 80% of your total wedding guest count is required to stay at Arte. The remaining guests (up to 20%) may attend as day-pass guests for $90 per person, entering up to 60 minutes before the ceremony and leaving at the end of the reception.
What About Guests With Children?
Arte is a 16+ resort, meaning no children under 16 are permitted, even for wedding events. However, there are two ceremony venues where children may be present: Palmeras Beach and the De Todos Los Angeles Catholic Chapel. Both are shared spaces accessible from the neighboring Hotel Xcaret Mexico, where families with young children may choose to stay.
Important note: children under 16 cannot attend the cocktail hour or reception at Arte, even if they attend the ceremony.
Can Guests at Hotel Xcaret Mexico Access Arte?
Adult guests staying at Hotel Xcaret Mexico may access Arte on your wedding day only, arriving 30 minutes before the ceremony and departing at the end of the reception. Outside of the wedding day, guests at Hotel Xcaret Mexico do not have access to Arte. For this reason, we generally encourage all guests who can stay at Arte to do so, since they’ll miss out on shared meals, pool time, and all the fun group hangout time that makes a destination wedding so special.
Room Block Perks
