This group was extremely helpful and I feel so bad it’s taken so long to make a review but here it is from my 11/11 wedding.
I had the most amazing day. I truly felt like a princess. We had the best week of our lives. When I tell you everyone had an amazing time EVERYONE HAD AN AMAZING TIME. From the pre wedding festivities to the big day and even the day after, every moment was pure magic.
The resort was absolutely breathtaking and the perfect backdrop for everything I dreamed of at Hotel Xcaret Mexico. I still can’t believe I had such a grand entrance, I was on a canoe feeling like Moana. I’m beyond happy with how everything turned out and so incredibly grateful for our friends and family who traveled to celebrate and share this unforgettable moment with us.
For the BOC one thing I was truly nervous about was my hair in the Mexico heat. I never envisioned myself in braids for my wedding day and I almost settled out of fear but I’m so happy I didn’t. I used Crispin Beauty for hair and makeup and I couldn’t have been happier with their services.
I loved working with Medellin from Magic Dream Weddings. She made sure the day of was perfect and it absolutely was. I am a type A bride but I know some other type A brides struggled with communication. I planned everything and then sent it over. I don’t like to overly communicate or talk every day unless necessary so she was perfect for me and I don’t have any complaints. She did try to steer me away from Crispin because she said communication wasn’t always great and she personally had some issues with them, but they were who I wanted and I’m glad I stuck with them because they did a great job.
The day before the wedding we did Xoximilco and everyone had an amazing time. It was so fun. My family is still telling me it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to.
Booking through Yellow Umbrella Events was the best decision from the start. They made booking so easy. They’re extremely communicative and respond very quickly. My family also had very positive things to say. And I got to meet Cheryl on my wedding day which made me so happy. You can tell she truly loves the resort and what she does and it was such a pleasure to meet her in person.
I planned for about 18 months and it all paid off in the end. My husband, parents and kids said the stress was all worth it. We can’t wait to go back and we’re actually planning a family vacation there. If I could do it all over again I would do it the same way.
I went simple on the bouquets and went all out for my arch. I asked Medellin to take some of the flowers out of the arch and add them to the centerpieces since I kept those simple too. My only complaint is the sweetheart table. I opted not to get florals because it was so expensive and just did candles and it was a little bare. But honestly you eat and then go outside to party so you don’t even realize it. The ambiance was everything I wanted. Unique, sexy, intimate and honestly breathtaking.
We were super concerned about the DJ because that can make or break your reception so we brought one from home and it was the best decision.
We chose Pixan Photography for our pictures and he was the perfect choice. He captured everything so beautifully. He was great to work with, I loved his personality and energy and all of our pictures are amazing. I know they will still look beautiful 20 years from now. I’m very happy we chose to do both videography and photography. I do wish I got a content creator but I’m still overall very happy.
We had a violinist for the cocktail hour but I don’t know if he was there for an hour to be honest. We arrived to our cocktail hour at the end and didn’t see him and there were no pictures. I was excited to have a violinist but I didn’t even get to enjoy it.
There will be things you forget, but just breathe and trust that everything will work out the way it’s meant to. Xcaret is definitely a pricy venue but well worth it. You truly get a one of a kind wedding with privacy, which I didn’t see from many other resorts.
